Privacy Policy

ResuLens ("we", "us") helps you tailor resumes, track job applications, and prepare for interviews. Your resume is sensitive personal data, and this policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how to get it deleted.

What we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google.
• Resume content — the resumes you paste or upload, including any personal details they contain (contact information, work history, education). You control this content entirely.
• Job search data — job descriptions you save, application statuses and notes, offer details you record, and your target role and location preferences.
• Billing information — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers.
• Usage analytics — anonymous page-view analytics (via Vercel Analytics) to understand how the product is used. We do not use advertising trackers.

How we use your data

• To provide the product: tailoring resumes, scoring them against job descriptions, generating interview preparation, and tracking your applications.
• To operate your subscription and free-tier usage limits.
• To send transactional emails (such as password resets). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, and we do not use your resumes to train AI models.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use a small set of service providers (subprocessors), each only for what's listed:

• OpenAI — processes resume and job-description text when you use AI features (tailoring, ATS scoring, interview prep). Sent per-request; OpenAI's API terms prohibit training on this data.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Apify — fetches public job listings for the Job Board based on your target role and location (your resume is never sent to Apify).
• Neon — our database, hosted in the United States.
• Cloudflare R2 — stores your generated resume PDFs.
• Upstash — background job queueing and rate limiting (no resume content is stored there).
• Vercel and Fly.io — application hosting.
• Resend — delivers transactional email.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in (authentication session cookies). There are no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account & Billing, which permanently deletes your resumes, jobs, applications, and generated PDFs, and cancels any active subscription. You can also email us (below) to request deletion or a copy of your data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we'll honor these requests for all users regardless of location.
